About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Funeral Director to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of experience in the funeral industry and hold a valid state Funeral Director License. A four-year degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Consult with client families to create personalized funeral and memorialization services that meet their needs and expectations.
  • Coordinate all aspects of funeral arrangements, including visits, services, and merchandise sales.
  • Ensure that client families receive exceptional service and support throughout the process.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to ensure seamless execution of funeral services.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation, including obituaries, death certificates, and burial permits.
  • Utilize technology to efficiently manage tasks, track progress, and communicate with clients and colleagues.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clergy, other presiding persons, fraternal or military organizations, and other stakeholders to ensure effective coordination of funeral services.
Requirements
  • Valid state Funeral Director License.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in the funeral industry.
  • Four-year degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
Compensation

The estimated salary for this position is $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. Benefits include a robust health insurance plan, 401(k) matching program, paid time off, and opportunities for professional development and advancement.

Work Environment

This role requires working in an indoor office setting, with some outdoor duties possible. Employees must be able to lift up to 75 pounds, climb, sit, stand, bend, kneel, and frequently reach overhead. Travel may be required, primarily local, occurring during business hours. Overtime may be necessary or required.
