Animal Care Specialist for Gnotobiotics Research

Job Summary: As an Animal Care Associate for Charles River Laboratories' Gnotobiotics Department in Wilmington, MA, you will be responsible for ensuring the well-being of our research animals.
Your contribution will have a direct impact on the health of our animals and, subsequently, the lives of patients across the world.
- Maintain the quality and health of our animals by providing their food and water, and ensuring their environment is clean.
- Receive, inspect, and put away incoming animals.
- Perform health observations, administer medications, take blood samples, and give injections while adhering to established protocols.
- Restock supplies as needed.

This is an entry-level position that will allow you to gain experience and begin your career in life sciences.
Job Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualities:
- Ability to lift and carry up to fifty (50) pounds.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Location: Wilmington, MA
Schedule: 1st shift, with some rotating weekends required (Monday-Thursday 6:00 am - 3:30 pm and Fridays 6:00 am - 10:00 am)
