Job Summary

At Skywood Recovery Center, we are seeking a skilled Medical Support Specialist to join our team. As a Medical Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our patients. Your primary responsibility will be to assess patients' medical needs, monitor medications, and administer and track TB skin tests. You will also be responsible for monitoring random drug screens and assisting medical providers as needed.

Responsibilities

• Complete medical screenings and assessments of new patients immediately upon admission, following established procedures.
• Monitor the medication process for individuals living in residential facilities, including supervision of medication distribution and self-administration processes.
• Prepare Medication Administration Records (MARs) and provide ongoing patient education regarding medications.
• Implement and monitor procedures for random urine drug screens to ensure timely and accurate testing.
• Document test results in medical files and communicate with patients' clinicians as necessary.
• Participate in weekly staff and clinical meetings to discuss patient progress and address any concerns.
• Cross-train and support other areas as needed or requested by the Manager.

Requirements

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree required.
• Unencumbered State of Michigan LPN or RN License.
• Minimum 3 years of experience working in psychology/psychiatry or a related field preferred.
