Job Opportunity

Project Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled computational chemist/informatics to join our team at Biogen. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to apply their computational chemistry and programming skills to a project of relevance for many pharmaceutical and biotech companies and work collaboratively with our computational chemistry group to advance the development of the Biogen Generative AI platform and Molecular Informatics Open-Source Platform.

Responsibilities

  • Implement a molecular shape comparison algorithm based on published methods.
  • Validate the method in internal data and compare it with commercial software.
  • Implement the user interface of the molecular shape comparison toolkit on the Biogen Molecular Informatics Open-Source Platform.
  • Write reports and give presentations to internal/external audiences.
  • Publish the project work on GitHub and peer-reviewed scientific journals.

Qualifications

  • B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. students pursuing studies in computational chemistry, cheminformatics, or a relevant field.
  • Strong Python programming skills.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
  • At least 18 years of age prior to the scheduled start date.
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university.
