Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our Gastroenterology team at Kaiser Permanente. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering quality patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for office visits and procedures by collecting relevant information and ensuring all necessary tests and documents are ready for review.
  • Conduct vital sign measurements, collect lab specimens, and perform other clinical tasks as needed.
  • Assist clinicians with patient care activities, including rooming patients, preparing exam rooms, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a positive work environment.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • Basic Life Support certification within 1 month of hire.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using electronic medical records and other healthcare software.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1-2 years of experience in a medical assistant role, preferably in an ambulatory care setting.
  • Current National Medical Assistant certification.
