About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Imaging Assistant to join our dynamic imaging team. In this critical role, you will support radiologic technologists and healthcare professionals by preparing patients for imaging procedures, maintaining equipment, and managing patient records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform a variety of tasks and functions associated with the department's daily operations, including greeting patients, answering incoming telephone calls, scheduling appointments, and providing general information to customers.
  • Enter patient information into the computer, scan documents into PACS, and maintain a complete patient record with admission, transfer, and discharge information, progress notes, and consent forms.
  • Provide support in the acquisition and distribution of digital patient records, digitize, format, and upload film-based or digital images into PACS, and maintain accurate filing systems.
  • Receive patients, confirm patient demographics and insurance information, and perform insurance verification when required.
  • Assist technologists and nurses in pre and post procedure room preparation, obtain necessary supplies, and assist patients as necessary.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
  • BLS certification is required.
  • Must be able to exercise good judgment, effectively communicate, and use discretion with patients, staff, and the general public.
