About the Position

Achieve Human Services, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to fill the role of Homelessness Coalition Coordinator. This position plays a critical role in coordinating and building the Yuma Coalition to End Homelessness, while providing support and assistance to the La Paz Coalition to End Homelessness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coalition Coordination: Establish and maintain relationships within the community to build a strong coalition against homelessness.
  • Meeting and Activity Coordination: Support the coordination of program activities and meetings to ensure effective collaboration among coalition members.
  • Data Management: Coordinate and manage HMIS data to ensure accuracy and quality reporting.
  • Statewide Engagement: Represent Yuma LCEH in statewide AZBOSCOC activities, committees, and coalitions to promote collaborative efforts.
  • Outreach and Access Point Coordination: Expand or establish outreach and access point coordination to connect with individuals experiencing homelessness.
  • Training and Capacity Building: Develop and coordinate training programs for coalition members, community partners, and homeless individuals to enhance capacity and knowledge.
  • Coordinated Entry Assessments: Conduct coordinated entry assessments with individuals experiencing homelessness to identify their needs and develop tailored plans.
  • Benefits and Resources: Connect individuals with mainstream benefits and resources to address their specific challenges.
  • Diversion Funds Management: Process requests for diversion funds to prevent homelessness and provide essential support services.
  • Community Awareness: Increase awareness of YCEH's mission and services within the community through informational meetings and events.
  • Housing Solutions: Identify affordable rental units and engage landlords to create a bank of accessible housing options for coalition member agencies.
  • Other Duties: Perform other tasks as assigned by the Behavioral Health/Housing Supervisor.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Social Services, Behavioral Health, Human Services, or Sociology preferred.
  • Experience: One year of experience providing community-based case management, preferably working with unhoused individuals.
  • Skills and Knowledge: Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills; basic understanding of crisis prevention and intervention; ability to work independently and collaboratively; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Work Environment

This role requires a high level of interaction with staff, government officials, law enforcement, community members, and homeless individuals. The work environment includes street outreach, office settings, and community meetings. The successful candidate must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks efficiently.

Salary Range: $55,000 - $65,000 per annum (dependent on qualifications and experience), with additional compensation for certifications and specialized training.
