Kitchen Maintenance Assistant | Part-Time| Iowa Events Center

We are seeking a detail-oriented Kitchen Maintenance Assistant to join our team at the Iowa Events Center & Wells Fargo Arena. As a key member of our catering staff, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and organization in our kitchen facilities.
About the Role- Maintain sanitation and hygiene standards in all kitchen areas, including equipment, utensils, dishware, glassware, and silverware.
- Set up and maintain back-of-house areas to ensure efficient event operations.
- Assist with pulling and staging equipment before events, during events, and after clean-up.
- Inventorize and maintain catering equipment, ensuring it is stored properly.
- Operate dish machine equipment and wash items by hand when necessary.
- Store clean dishes, utensils, and equipment in designated areas.
- Assist with plate-up and food production lines as needed.
- Sort and remove trash or compost and clean after usage.
- Sweep and/or scrub all floors in the kitchen and back-of-house areas.
- Keep dock areas clean and organized.
- Clean up spills and breakage on the event floor.
- Maintain a positive attitude and compliant employee relations climate.
- Prior experience working in a food production kitchen or similar industry is preferred.
- Able to interact positively with diverse personalities, including co-workers and managers.
- Active listening and effective communication skills in basic English.
- Able to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
This part-time role offers a competitive hourly wage of $19.00 and benefits, including a 401(k) savings plan with matching contributions. Additionally, you will receive one hour of accrued paid leave per 30 hours worked, up to 48 hours per year.
