Commodity Associate

CHS Inc. is a leading global agribusiness that provides grain, food, and energy resources to businesses and consumers worldwide. We are seeking a skilled Commodity Trader to join our team in Wichita, KS.

• Coordinate the logistical movement of grain in trucks and railcars.
• Set freight rates for the movement of Producer Ag originated grain.
• Establish and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders to add value for Producer Ag.
• Continuously investigate best practices for grain logistics operations.
• Originate bushels from producer and commercial accounts.
• Communicate goals and objectives to internal stakeholders.
• Create relationships with key end-user accounts.
• Search for new markets for originated grain.
• Manage grain position risk with hedging activities.
• Work to meet or exceed budgeted financial return objectives.
• Set bids for producer grain that we originate.
• Help plan and execute company merchandising goals.
• Coordinate all daily merchandising functions.

• High School diploma or GED.
• Knowledge of Supply Chain and Procurement and/or Commodities.
• Knowledge of Trading.
• Bachelor's degree preferred in Accounting, Business, Economics, Finance, Statistics, or related field.
• Understanding of commodity markets and trading principles.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-changing environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
• Ability to respond to inquiries and complaints from customers.
• Ability to react to change productively.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference; fundamentals of plane and solid geometry; and trigonometry.
