Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Veterinary Technician to join our team at Four Legs Animal Hospital. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality medical care to our patients and exceptional service to our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians in providing medical care to pets
  • Provide gentle and compassionate care for animals
  • Check in clients, take medical history, obtain patient vitals
  • Perform animal restraint during examinations and procedures
  • Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by veterinarians
  • Conduct pet grooming, including bathing, brushing (as needed), and nail trimming
  • Set up and execute radiographs
  • Collect and process laboratory samples for testing
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic
  • Use aseptic technique to prepare surgical instruments and equipment
  • Assist/monitor surgical procedures under the supervision of veterinarians
  • Provide client education as directed by veterinarians
  • Assist with phone calls and administrative workflow
  • Utilize veterinary terminology to communicate effectively with team members and clients

Requirements

  • Certification or degree in veterinary technology or equivalent preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience working as a veterinary technician preferred
  • Knowledge of animal behavior and handling techniques
  • Familiarity with veterinary medical equipment and procedures
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Compassionate and caring attitude towards animals
  • Ability to work well as a team player
  • Proficiency in computer systems and software used for scheduling appointments and maintaining records
