We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Texas Children's Hospital.

About the Job

This is a dynamic and fast-paced environment where you will have the opportunity to work with critically ill patients and their families. As an ICU nurse, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care to ensure the best possible outcomes.

About You

To be successful in this role, you must have a strong foundation in nursing principles and practices, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A bachelor's degree in nursing or an associate's degree with relevant experience is required. Additionally, you must be licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas and hold current Basic Life Support certification.

Responsibilities
  • Assess and prioritize patient needs, developing individualized plans of care that address physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
  • Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physicians, ensuring accurate dosing and timing.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, including physician consultations, diagnostic tests, and therapies.
  • Document patient progress, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or associate's degree with relevant experience.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas.
  • Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
  • One year of experience in intensive care unit nursing, preferably with PICU or CICU experience.
