Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Protein Production Specialist to join our team at Omeros Corporation.

About the Job

The ideal candidate will have expertise in protein design, production, and analytics to support the discovery and early development of bio-therapeutics across various disease states. This role will involve designing and executing experiments towards the production of high-quality protein reagents. Additionally, the position will have responsibilities in developing and implementing protein production technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Protein Production Technologies: Develop and implement core protein production technologies to generate and screen high-quality protein reagents.
  • Data Integrity: Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic lab notebooks and data documents.
  • Findings Interpretation: Interpret and present research findings at the group and department levels.
  • Candidate Selection: Collaborate with others to guide efforts toward selecting candidate therapeutic modalities.
Requirements
  • A BS degree with 3+ years of relevant industry experience, or a MS degree with 1+ year of relevant experience, or a PhD with 0-2 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience applying technical skills towards recombinant protein expression, including vector construction, use of expression systems (E. coli and HEK), and protein purification.
  • Experience determining protein quality attributes, such as purity, size, aggregation state, and endotoxin.
  • Experience with biophysical and protein analytical techniques, including UPLC, Mass-spec, SPR, or Octet.
Compensation and Benefits

Omeros Corporation offers a competitive total compensation package, which includes a salary range of $84,000 - $128,000, based on knowledge, skills, education, and experience relevant to the role. The company also provides medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and a 401(k) plan with a company match. Employees accrue three weeks of vacation and 80 hours of sick time annually, and receive twelve paid holidays throughout the calendar year. This position is eligible for bonus and stock options.
