Inventory Manager

The Columbia Safety & Supply Family of Companies is seeking a skilled Inventory Planner to join our team. As an Inventory Planner, you will be responsible for setting priorities, working autonomously, and making an immediate impact on the team and the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the day-to-day purchasing activities of assigned vendors/categories by initiating and placing purchase orders, work orders, and store transfers.
- Negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing with our Product Management team with new suppliers, and manage completely with existing suppliers.
- Determine and maintain the appropriate purchasing parameters (stock levels) for stocked products.
- Monitor supplier performance and coordinate corrective action for unsatisfactory performance.
- Support and initiate cost containment and cost reduction opportunities.
- Contact vendors to ensure timely PO's delivery or advise of changed due dates.
- Monitor the receipt of incoming materials and follows up on late shipments.
- Process vendor and warranty returns; follow up with suppliers to ensure proper credit memos/warranty replacements are received.
- Maintain positive and collaborative relationships with suppliers, salespersons, and other team members throughout the organization.
- Bachelor's in Supply Chain, Business, or related field and a minimum of 1 year experience in supply chain, purchasing, or inventory management.
- Excellent organizational skills, ability to plan ahead.
- Skilled in MS Office tools and similar, including G-Suite.
- Experience in Planning Software is a plus.
- CPIM or CSCP preferred.
