We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Collector to join our team at the State of Arkansas. In this role, you will be responsible for examining evidentiary records, contracts, tax returns, and child support case management activities.

The ideal candidate will have experience in telephone collection or personal contact collection, with a proven track record of successfully resolving delinquent accounts. You will also have excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide information and assistance to taxpayers or child support customers regarding laws, regulations, and reporting procedures.

The salary for this position is estimated to be around $32,405 - $51,686 per year, based on the location and industry standards. This is a great opportunity to start your career as a public service collector and contribute to the mission of the Department of Finance and Administration.

Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Examining evidentiary records to verify accuracy and compliance with laws and regulations
  • Explaining applicable laws or program requirements to taxpayers or child support customers
  • Computing taxes, penalties, interest, or refunds due
  • Correcting tax returns, forms, contracts, and evidentiary records
  • Interviewing custodial and non-custodial parents and contacting employers, neighbors, and landlords to obtain information
