Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Machine Vision Engineer III to join our Equipment Engineering group in Maple Grove, MN. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing automated inspection systems and software solutions for medical device manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop vision systems, including specifying cameras, lighting, and lensing requirements.
  • Provide leadership and champion functional best practices and new technology initiatives.
  • Participate in project teams to develop clear specifications, evaluate feasibility of concepts, and provide formal estimates for vision system designs.
  • Integrate machine vision systems into PC or PLC-based systems.
  • Communicate costs and project status to project leads.
  • Analyze inspection results to prove robustness of vision system changes.
  • Complete project deliverables and monitor project schedule and scope changes to ensure team meets delivery requirements.
  • Assist in creating specifications and qualifications for FDA/QSR software requirements.
  • Provide training to ensure software/vision solutions can be operated effectively.
  • Troubleshoot machine vision and controls systems using pneumatic and electrical schematics.
  • Create supporting design documentation.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related technical field.
  • 4+ years of vision system design and automation system design experience.
  • Proficient user of Cognex (Insight, Designer, VPro) and/or Keyence products.
  • Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts.
  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
