Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to fill the role of Assistant General Manager at Goldfish Swim School - Webster. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our swim school, ensuring that our high standards of quality and customer service are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct and control the daily operations to ensure the school is running according to GSS standard operating procedures.
  • Assist the General Manager and department managers with fulfilling daily tasks.
  • Manage the staff of GSS to ensure high productivity, excellent performance, and positive employee satisfaction.
  • Train and oversee the aquatics department to provide superior swim instruction to our students.
  • Provide sales and marketing training to all qualified sales staff.
  • Direct the retail and vending departments to ensure a proper mix of products and pricing is achieved.
  • Train and oversee private party staff to ensure that our standard operating procedures are being maintained.
  • Gain knowledge and experience in the Links software to achieve a high level of competence in bookings, class scheduling, reporting, and administrative functions.
  • Gain a high level of knowledge and experience in pool operations necessary to maintain a safe and sanitary swim environment.
  • Initiate and oversee workplace employee activities (Fun Department) with the goal of achieving improved employee satisfaction.
  • Direct and oversee the implementation of the Emergency Action Plan and all safety procedures that pertain to our facility and train all current staff on the GSS EAP.
  • Maintain current certifications and stay up-to-date professionally on the aquatics and management field.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED is required. Bachelors degree or higher preferred.
  • Experience as a certified lifeguard, youth sports instructor/coach, camp counselor, and/or childcare provider required.
  • Two or more years of management experience preferred.
  • Two or more years as a swimming instructor preferred.

Certifications and Licenses:

  • Ellis Lifeguard, Ellis Lifeguard Instructor, Ellis CPR/AED, and Ellis First Aid certifications required.

Work Environment:

While performing this job, the employee is regularly exposed to heat and humidity. Noise level is usually moderate.
