Job Summary and Responsibilities
The Nurse Lead is responsible for assisting physicians and staff with daily patient care coordination and physician access. The Nurse Lead serves as the liaison between patients, staff, and physicians.
- Responsible for providing professional nursing care to office patients in non-complex situations under the supervision of Physician and Clinical Practice Manager or Clinical Coordinator.
- Delivers direct patient care within the scope of licensure and in accordance with SMG policy.
- Assumes accountability for the quality of care delivered, including maintaining standard precautions.
Prioritizes patient care by implementing physician orders and nursing procedures. Documents appropriately in the Electronic Health Record (EHR). Assures all patients are correctly identified prior to providing and/or documenting care. Communicates and provides care consistent with age, cultural, spiritual, and developmental needs of the patient.
Maintains efficient patient flow. Employs appropriate and timely use of Tasking in EHR. Schedules appointments appropriately and accurately according to department guidelines. Administers injections according to appropriate protocol. Documents injections accurately in EHR.
