Job Title: Security Guard Supervisor (Evening Shift)

Job Summary:

The University of Maryland, Baltimore Department of Police and Public Safety seeks a highly motivated and experienced Security Guard Supervisor to oversee the evening shift operations. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our campus community, while also providing guidance and support to our security guards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Determine work priorities, plans, and distributes work assignments, and reviews work to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with established regulations.
  • Provides guidance and training to a team of security guards.
  • Develops and coordinates staffing schedules to ensure coverage at all established security posts for each shift.
  • Conducts audits of security logs to ensure compliance with established procedures.
  • Reviews, communicates, and provides appropriate training on changes/additions to normal routines, updates to security alarm and camera systems, security software, badge recognition and validation process, and emergency situations responses.
  • Assists leadership in overseeing shift activities, including providing input for performance evaluations.
  • Performs all the duties of a security guard.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Five (5) years progressively responsible related experience, including at least one year in supervisory capacity.
  • Prior security experience preferred. Valid Maryland Non-commercial Class C or equivalent driver's license strongly preferred.

  • Prior security experience.

Working Conditions:

Employees in this job class may be subject to pre-employment and random drug testing. Based on the duties of this position, selected candidates are not eligible to participate in the Bargaining Unit (Union).

Salary Range:

$54,000 - $58,000 (commensurate with education and experience).
