Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Assembly Craftsman to join our team at Builders FirstSource. This is an entry-level position that involves performing repetitive assembly operations to mass-produce products such as trusses and panels.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for placing parts in specified relationships, bolting, clipping, screwing, cementing, or otherwise fastening parts together. They will also need to cut products to specific measurements as needed and remove defective products. Additionally, they will tend machines to perform force fitting or fastening operations on the assembly line.

Requirements

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to read and comprehend simple instructions. They should also be able to write simple correspondence and verbally express themselves effectively in individual and small group situations. Basic math skills are also necessary, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.

Working Environment

The physical demands of this role include standing continuously, using hands to finger, handle, or feel, reaching with hands and arms, and talking or hearing. The employee may be required to walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Lifting and moving up to 100 pounds may be necessary.

Compensation

The estimated salary for this role is $40,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience.
