Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Dietary Aide to join our team at The Newport Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Newport News, VA.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will assist the cook in preparing resident meals under the supervision of the Dining Services Manager/designee. This includes:

  • Preparing and distributing resident meals and snacks in accordance with the menu, diet orders, and facility meal schedule.
  • Washing dishes and cleaning work areas, tables, cabinets, carts, and ovens in accordance with infection control standards.
  • Ensuring proper storage and handling of food, including knowledge of proper holding temperatures and temperature documentation.
  • Operating kitchen appliances effectively.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Prior food service experience (preferably ServSafe certified).
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple information.
  • Physical ability to lift, push, pull, and move up to 50 pounds.
