Job Summary:

This is a rewarding opportunity to join our team as a Respiratory Therapist in the critical care department. As a key member of our respiratory therapy team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality care to critically ill patients, collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective treatment plans, and ensuring seamless communication throughout the care process.

Responsibilities:

2. Demonstrate safe and proper use of respiratory equipment, including ventilators, BIPAP/CPAP systems, oxygen delivery devices, and blood gas analyzers.

Perform tracheal, endotracheal, and nasopharyngeal suctioning, including instillation of pharmacologic agents as needed.

Draw and analyze arterial blood gases by arterial stick according to established protocols.

Interpret arterial blood gas and oximetry results to inform treatment decisions.

Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare professionals.

Maintain accurate records of patient therapies, including concerns and issues identified during shifts.

Participate in multidisciplinary rounds to ensure comprehensive care planning.

Requirements:

• Graduate of an approved Respiratory Care program.

A valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care, along with a current license to practice as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in the State of Connecticut.

A minimum of one year of skilled respiratory experience within the last two years.

Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently.

Effective verbal and written communication skills for successful collaboration with patients, colleagues, and physicians.

Access to reliable transportation for travel between multiple work sites.
