Job Summary:
This is a rewarding opportunity to join our team as a Respiratory Therapist in the critical care department. As a key member of our respiratory therapy team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality care to critically ill patients, collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective treatment plans, and ensuring seamless communication throughout the care process.
">Responsibilities:

- Demonstrate safe and proper use of respiratory equipment, including ventilators, BIPAP/CPAP systems, oxygen delivery devices, and blood gas analyzers.
Perform tracheal, endotracheal, and nasopharyngeal suctioning, including instillation of pharmacologic agents as needed.
">Draw and analyze arterial blood gases by arterial stick according to established protocols.
">Interpret arterial blood gas and oximetry results to inform treatment decisions.
">Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
">Maintain accurate records of patient therapies, including concerns and issues identified during shifts.
">Participate in multidisciplinary rounds to ensure comprehensive care planning.
">Requirements:

- Graduate of an approved Respiratory Care program.
A valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care, along with a current license to practice as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in the State of Connecticut.
">A minimum of one year of skilled respiratory experience within the last two years.
">Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently.
">Effective verbal and written communication skills for successful collaboration with patients, colleagues, and physicians.
">Access to reliable transportation for travel between multiple work sites.
