Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Law Enforcement Professional to join our team in Malheur County, OR. This position is responsible for operating the control room in the Malheur County Correctional Facility, ensuring the safety and security of inmates and staff. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Control Room Operations: Operate and control security doors, monitor safety and security equipment, answer inmate intercom system, and advise housing areas of court visits, release, and other pending inmate movement.
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor the activity of the floor officer and other corrections staff, call for assistance when necessary, and update and maintain logs, criminal jackets, computer system, and other records.
  • Inmate Visiting and Communication: Assist with inmate visiting by sending inmates to the visiting room and documenting visit information, answer telephone inquiries from other justice agencies and the public in a professional and polite manner.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Courteously meet and deal effectively with other employees, department heads, outside agency personnel, and the public, maintaining effective working relationships.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or GED
  • Experience: Experience or training demonstrating the ability to perform the duties of the position, including the ability to analyze situations quickly and objectively, follow instructions, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Certifications and Licenses: Must pass or provide proof of Police Officer Selection test with a minimum score of 70 points, and a valid Drivers' License with a good driving history.
