Job Summary:

This is a full-time position for the Venous Access Team at UT Southwestern Medical Center, a specialty role that supports all areas of the hospital to assist with the placement of PIVs, PICCs, and midlines utilizing sono-guidance for patients with difficult vasculature.

The ideal candidate will have one year of experience in an acute care setting, with excellent IV skills and experience with moderate sedation administration and monitoring. A current RN license through the Texas BON or a graduate of an accredited program in respiratory care licensed by the Texas Medical Board is required.

The successful candidate will perform and accurately document physical, psychosocial, and emotional assessments, actively anticipate patient needs and expectations, and utilize critical thinking skills in planning and prioritizing nursing care. They will also identify and implement appropriate nursing interventions, complete accurate and timely documentation, and actively involve patients in the plan of care.
