Job Summary

The Paramedic provides high-quality patient care and safe medical transport to sick and injured patients in all age groups. This role requires a strong commitment to delivering exceptional patient experiences and working collaboratively with the healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develops and implements a plan of care for each patient, consistent with approved treatment protocols and policies.
  • Operates and maintains emergency vehicles in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all traffic laws.
  • Collaborates with the healthcare team to initiate and revise the plan of care as needed.
  • Maintains thorough patient care documentation and completes daily base duties.
  • Stays current with NHRMC and department-specific communications.
  • Promotes team effort and unity when working with external public safety agencies and other healthcare providers.
  • Continuously develops personal and professional skills to enhance practice and profession.
  • Organizes and performs work effectively and efficiently, completing all paperwork within required time frames.
  • May perform moderate or waived point-of-care testing per CLIA and CAP guidelines.
  • Consistently demonstrates professional behavior and performs proactive interventions that support the Mission, Vision, and Values of NHRMC and this department.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Successful completion of an approved Paramedic program.
  • North Carolina Paramedic or Nationally Registered Paramedic licensure.
  • Current NC Paramedic required to perform direct patient care.
  • BCLS, ACLS, PALS prior to hire.
  • PHTLS/ITLS required within 90 days.
  • Current driver's license and meeting general hospital driving requirements.
  • Completion of National Registry Paramedic within 2 years of hire.
