Portsmouth, Virginia, United States MRG Exams Full time

At MRG Exams, a premier service provider of independent medical examinations, we are seeking a skilled Physiatrist to join our team as an Independent Medical Assessor (IMA) for the US Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a board-certified Physiatrist to utilize their expertise in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation to conduct thorough medical assessments on veterans as part of the VA's disability benefits process.

The ideal candidate will have excellent clinical skills, strong analytical abilities, and effective communication skills. They will be responsible for reviewing medical records through a secure Web Portal, performing comprehensive assessments, and documenting exam findings using Disability Benefit Questionnaires (DBQs).

The IMA will work independently, without making disability determinations, which are solely the responsibility of the VA.

This role is not a treating position but rather a fact-finding and investigative one, where you will analyze data from medical records and exam findings to complete DBQs and form medical opinions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough medical assessments on veterans as part of the VA's disability benefits process.
  • Review medical health records through a secure Web Portal.
  • Perform comprehensive assessments and document exam findings using DBQs.
  • Analyze data from medical records and exam findings to complete DBQs and form medical opinions.

We are looking for a Physiatrist who can commit to working at least 3 days a week, with a hybrid schedule that includes both telehealth and face-to-face interactions.

Requirements
  • Must hold a current license as a Physiatrist.
  • Must be Board Certified in either Neurological Surgery, PM&R, or Psychiatry and Neurology.

As an IMA with MRG Exams, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of veterans while developing your skills and expertise in independent medical assessments.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a reputable organization that values professionalism, integrity, and commitment to excellence.

Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on experience.
