Radiology Nuclear Medicine Technologist Position in Los Angeles

Salary Range: $2,650 weekly
Job Summary
Nuclear medicine technologists perform tests for diagnosis and medical research. They prepare and administer small doses of radioactive drugs, then use high-level imaging equipment to record images of the radioactive material in the body.
Skill Requirements:
- Must be detail-oriented and follow precise procedures to ensure the safety of patients and themselves.
- Must be able to analyze images and determine if they are high quality enough to make an accurate diagnosis.
- Communicate with patients and other health care professionals to explain procedures, answer questions, and discuss test results.
- May be on their feet for long periods and may need to lift and move patients who cannot move themselves.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Explain medical procedures to the patient and answer questions
- Follow safety procedures to protect themselves and the patient from unnecessary radiation exposure
- Prepare and administer radioactive chemical compounds, known as radiopharmaceuticals
- Perform patient imaging procedures using sophisticated radiation-detecting instrumentation
- Accomplish computer processing and image enhancement
- Analyze biologic specimens in the laboratory
- Provide images, data analysis, and patient information to the physician for diagnostic interpretation.
Education, Certification, & Experience:
- Provider BLS - American Heart Association
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)
- Associates or Bachelor's Degree from a nuclear medicine technology program
Must be legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
