Economic Analyst for Amazon's Forecasting Team

**About the Role**
We are seeking an Economic Analyst to join our Forecasting, Macroeconomics & Finance team at Amazon. As an Economist in this field, you will be responsible for documenting, interpreting, and forecasting Amazon business dynamics.
This role is ideal for economists with a strong background in combining cutting-edge time-series statistical methods with economic analysis and intuition. The Forecasting, Macroeconomics & Finance field utilizes methods at the frontier of economics to develop formal models that understand the past and present, predict the future, and identify relevant risks and opportunities.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Document and interpret Amazon business dynamics using econometric models.
- Forecast sales, revenue, and other key metrics using advanced statistical techniques.
- Develop and maintain relationships with senior management and scientists from other fields to solve key business problems.
**Requirements**
- PhD in Economics or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of industry, consulting, government, or academic research experience.
- Deep knowledge in time series econometrics, asset pricing, empirical macroeconomics, or the use of micro and panel data to improve and validate traditional aggregative models.
- Strong background in statistics methodology, applications to business problems, and/or big data.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced business environment.
- Strong research track record.
- Effective verbal and written communications skills with both economists and non-economist audiences.
**Benefits**
Amazon offers a competitive salary range of $124,100 - $212,800 per year, depending on location and experience. In addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, this position may also include equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation as part of a total compensation package.
