About the Role

As a Dining Host at Maggiano's Little Italy, you will be responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere for our guests. This is a full-time and part-time opportunity where you will play a crucial role in ensuring that every guest feels valued and appreciated.

Salary Information

We are offering an estimated annual salary of $25,000-$35,000 depending on experience. With opportunities for overtime eligibility, paid sick leave benefits, and a comprehensive benefits package, we offer a competitive compensation package.

Job Description

Your primary responsibility as a Dining Host will be to provide exceptional customer service by greeting guests, answering phones, taking messages and reservations, and maintaining an accurate wait list when necessary. You will also be responsible for seating guests, bidding farewell, and ensuring a seamless dining experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Determine the optimal number of reservations to accept based on established procedures.
  • Take all reservation calls and accurately record relevant information.
  • Confirm reservations according to company protocol.
  • Seat the restaurant evenly and maintain an orderly environment to ensure a welcoming atmosphere for all guests.
  • Maintain accurate headcounts for each station.
  • Fully complete telephone message pads and pass them to the appropriate person within 10 minutes.
  • Check washrooms and coordinate with bus staff to ensure cleanliness requirements are met.
  • Keep the host desk and waiting area clean and organized throughout your shift.
  • Sell and accurately account for gift certificate sales.
  • Move tables as needed for larger or smaller parties.
  • Provide excellent communication skills and relate positively to guests.

Requirements

To be successful as a Dining Host, you must have:

  • A minimum of 1 year of full-service restaurant experience or equivalent.
  • Accurate mathematical skills.
  • The ability to meet personal schedule requirements punctually.
  • A warm, sincere, and outgoing personality.
  • The capacity to stand for extended periods and move safely throughout the restaurant.
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
