Accounting Specialist

Progressive Insurance is seeking a highly skilled Accounting and Financial Reporting Specialist to join our Statutory Reporting team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for executing medium to highly complex statutory financial reporting, preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and company close analysis. You will also monitor accounting and financial reporting changes and maintain compliance with internal SOX controls and state insurance department requirements.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- Perform account reconciliations and journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Monitor and analyze financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- Minimum of two years' experience in accounting and financial reporting
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Experience with GAAP and statutory accounting principles
- Experience with financial statement analysis and month-end closing
- Strong analytical and research skills
- Competitive salary range: $65,000 - $77,400/year
