Bariatric Nurse Navigator RN Position

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Bariatric Nurse Navigator RN to join our team at Parham Doctors' Hospital. As a Bariatric Nurse Navigator RN, you will play a vital role in facilitating patient navigation to bariatric surgery during the pre-op, intra-op, and post-op phases.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize the current bariatric surgery patient clinical care pathway to guide patient navigation.
- Collaborate with the bariatric surgeons' office to prepare patients for surgery by providing pre-op patient education.
- Create effective working relationships with the hospital multidisciplinary care team to prepare patients for hospital discharge.
- Provide 1:1 patient discharge education as per the current bariatric discharge process.
Requirements
- Current RN license with eligibility to work in the state of Virginia required.
- One year experience in Bariatric Surgery Patient Care preferred.
- Minimum of one year surgical (pre/post/intraoperative) RN experience required.
- Enrolled in a bachelors of nursing program or BSN achieved.
- Must have BLS American Heart Association or CPR (American Red Cross) at time of hire.
- Proficiency in Word and Excel applications required.
