We seek an exceptionally skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our esteemed Risk Engineering team. We utilize the latest technologies and deployment strategies, including big data analytics, AI/ML modeling, event-driven microservice architectures, cloud deployments, and Kubernetes orchestration. Your Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with partners and stakeholders to understand customer needs and challenges.
  • Design, code, test, deploy, and monitor sophisticated processes in a cloud-based architecture.
  • Effectively develop and maintain CI/CD automation using tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, etc.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, including provisioning and managing cloud-based data infrastructure.
  • Perform software development with TDD and BDD, Microservice and event-oriented architectures.
  • Analyze data, existing systems, and processes independently to identify bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Mentor and learn from peers, fostering continuous learning of new technologies within your team and organization.
  • Contribute to interviews and provide quality feedback.
  • Demonstrate expertise in our team's process and best practices, applying them to tasks with guidance from peers and your manager.
  • Proactively understand customer/business problems and design solutions that effectively address these issues.
  • Partner with, assist, or lead team members in development and problem-solving.
  • Lead a scrum team with proper agile development practices, ensuring high-quality and timely development and delivery.
  • Owning medium to large complex components or systems/products/platforms.
  • Participating and leading technical discussions.
  • Designing and building high-quality and efficient systems with craftsmanship.
  • Independently completing work at a medium/large complexity level and proactively seeking reviews from senior engineers.
  • Identifying and communicating dependencies.
  • Reviewing work from peers and providing constructive feedback.
  • Building reliable, secure, high-quality, efficient, and easy-to-use big data platforms and tools at scale.
  • Constructing systems, platforms, data pipelines, and tools for end-to-end data lifecycle management, including ingestion, cleaning, processing, enrichment, optimization, and serving.
  • Becoming a subject matter expert in your functional area and adhering to best practices.
  • Applying creative problem-solving techniques to resolve unique circumstances and suggest alternative approaches.
  • Utilizing data and/or AI technology/tools in your design and development for enhanced productivity and better solution quality.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field OR equivalent deep understanding, experience, and capability.
  • Master or PhD degree in Computer Science (or related field) and 2+ years of experience in software engineering or 4+ years of experience in software engineering at a large scale.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Highly self-motivated and eager to learn, with a continuous growth and upskilling mindset.
  • Rich experience in designing high-quality, performant, and efficient solutions for medium/large complex problems.
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD automation.
  • Experience in combined engineering practice and agile development.
  • Rich experience and good implementation skills using languages like Java, C#, or Golang, including coding, automated testing, measurement, and monitoring. Experience with TDD approach.
  • Good understanding of data processing techniques, such as data pipeline/platform development, SQL, and DBs.
  • Experience in cloud technology, such as AWS and Azure.
  • Passion for understanding and solving customer/business problems.

The base pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual pay rates will vary based on factors like qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Base pay is one component of WEX's total compensation package. Most sales positions are eligible for commission under applicable plans. Non-sales roles typically receive a quarterly or annual bonus based on their role and plan. Base Pay Range: $117,000.00 - $155,000.00
