Job Title: Peer Support SpecialistSalary: $45,000 - $55,000 per year

This is a full-time position with flexible hours and excellent benefits package including health, vision, dental and life insurance, vacation and sick leave, and retirement.

Job Description

Company Overview: As a Peer Support Specialist at Clark Community Mental Health, you will play a vital role in our team's mission to provide high-quality support services to individuals experiencing mental health challenges.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist individuals served in their recovery from behavioral health problems
  • Start and sustain mutual support groups
  • Promote dialogues on recovery and resilience
  • Teach and model symptom management skills
  • Teach and model problem-solving skills
  • Support efforts to find and maintain paid employment
  • Use the stages in recovery concept to promote self-determination
  • Assist in setting goals and follow through on wellness and health activities
  • Complete all necessary documentation in a timely manner

Requirements:

  • Education – High School Diploma or its equivalent with specialized certification by the State
  • PEER Certification Required
  • Experience – Lived experience similar to those clients the peer specialist serves
  • Skills/Abilities- Effective oral and written communication

Working Conditions:

The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in an office setting as well as meeting clients in various locations. Travel may be required for meetings and training sessions.
