About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Magnet Assembly Technician to join our team at Award Staffing. As a Magnet Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for operating coil winding machines, setting guides and keys, and assembling coils into magnet housing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate coil winding machines to transfer wire from spools to winding arbors, bobbins, and tubes to produce coils.
  • Set guides, keys, and switches to prepare equipment for operation.
  • Mount and position materials, such as leads, sleeving insulation onto coils by crimping, soldering, brazing, or by other methods as required.
  • Install connectors, plugs, wire guides, and other various components to magnet housing.
  • Assemble coils into magnet housing.
  • Prepare epoxy components for various products.
  • Epoxy and cure coils and friction material into magnet housing and rotors.
  • Inspect and test magnets and other goods.
  • Follow all safety rules and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.
Requirements
  • High school or equivalent.
  • Previous magnet or mechanical assembly experience required.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Basic math skills (standard and metric).
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools.
  • Ability to follow work written instructions accurately.
  • Ability to do accurate work at a rapid pace.
  • Ability to work with repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively (written and verbal).
  • Ability to work well independently as well as with others.
  • Ability to pay attention to details.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to proficiently read and write in English.
  • Ability to follow all safety rules.
  • Ability to effectively manage time and meet all necessary deadlines.
  • Willingness to learn soldering.
  • Ability to see and work with small parts with or without accommodation.
  • Ability to document daily work progress.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit 75% of shift.
  • Ability to walk, lift, push, pull, and stand as needed.
  • Very repetitive tasks and motions.
  • High hand-eye coordination.
