Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Firmware Engineering Lead to join our team at Janus International Group. This is a critical role that requires a strong technical background in firmware development and leadership skills to drive our cloud applications forward.

About the Role

The Firmware Engineering Lead will be responsible for leading firmware engineering deliverables, planning, strategy, rollouts, and team activities. This includes implementing the technical roadmap of the group, ensuring defect-free delivery during transformations, driving adoption of automation, security posture, performance standards, design principles, and quality and productivity improvement initiatives.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Lead firmware engineering teams to develop firmware for new and existing products.
  • Work closely with hardware teams to develop firmware for new hardware products.
  • Design and drive quality and productivity improvement initiatives for the team.
  • Implement best architectural practices and minimize current consumption of all products through hardware and firmware changes.
  • Develop firmware that communicates over BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) and other mesh technologies.
  • Develop firmware for Embedded Linux applications and over-the-air firmware updates.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 12+ years of experience in embedded software development.
  • Previous work with embedded platforms such as ARM, STM, NRF platforms.
  • 12+ years of experience with C, C++, Python, and Java programming languages.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to collect information and identify fundamental patterns/trends in data.
