Quality Director

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Quality Director to lead our supplier and design quality program at Thyssenkrupp Elevator in Atlanta, GA.
Responsibilities:
- Establish and continuously improve a comprehensive supplier and design quality program.
- Develop and implement supplier qualification, supplied product, supplier strategy, supplier audits, root cause analysis, and quality scorecards.
- Partner with engineering, product management, suppliers, and sourcing to develop robust procedures and work instructions.
- Review product requirement documents and product requirement reviews to ensure on-time delivery of milestone reviews.
- Represent the quality team for all active legacy products and new product programs.
- Develop quality-related deliverables for engineering change order processes.
- Escalate issues impacting the timely release and quality of new product development programs and supplied components.
- Lead supplier monitoring and drive supplier corrections and cost avoidance.
- Qualify products purchased using a production part approval process (PPAP) to establish stable manufacturing within the supply base.
- Assure product compliance to purchasing specifications through supplier and engineering change order systems.
- Execute a business unit audit strategy, including supplier audits with procurement and global commodity managers.
- Conduct root cause analysis to develop corrective and preventive action plans.
- Manage the investigation of field failures regarding supplier products and make recommendations for corrective plans.
- Lead supplier development, supplier risk assessments, and supplier gap analysis in support of new product road maps and future business strategies.
Requirements:
- BS degree in a technical or scientific field.
- 10 years of management/team lead responsibility.
- Ability to travel internationally.
- Experience working in an electrical and mechanical engineering environment.
- Experienced in new product development program coordination.
- Evidence of effective execution in a matrix organization.
- Energizing and effective leader able to motivate others to excel.
- Proven strong verbal and written communication skills at all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver results against organization goals.
- Demonstrated ability to address and resolve complex technical issues.
- Shown ability to adjust tactics and methods to address changes within a dynamic business environment.
- Solid analytical ability for both situations and data.
- Agent for a quality cultural rejuvenation and change.
- Proven ability to integrate cross-functionally.
- Self-motivated and independent.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
