About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Disability Advocate and Accessibility Specialist to join our team at RCIL. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing services to assist and support individuals with disabilities to live independently in the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide accessibility consultation and technical assistance to agencies, businesses, public spaces, and other places that interact with members of the disability community.
  • Work with individuals to increase accessibility in their homes and/or living spaces and assist in obtaining appropriate medical equipment or services.
  • Maintain current knowledge of disability/accessibility laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate and support team members on access issues and other advocacy projects.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Completed ADA Coordinator Training Certification Program or successfully complete the training within the first six months of employment.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Two to four years working with people with disabilities.
  • Medicaid, Medicare, and community-based services for people with disabilities and seniors.
  • Fair Housing Act, Rehabilitation Act (Section 504), ADA, state and local building codes, environmental modifications (E-mods), durable medical equipment (DME), and Assistive Technology (AT).
