Job Summary:

Piedmont Virginia Community College invites applications for adjunct faculty members in the English department to teach English Composition and Literature courses.

About the College:

Piedmont Virginia Community College is a nonresidential two-year institution of higher education serving Central Virginia, primarily residents of the City of Charlottesville and surrounding counties.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach English Composition and Literature courses at any PVCC location, including the Giuseppe Center and correctional facilities.
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans and assessments to meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to improve curriculum and instructional practices.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in English with 18 graduate semester hours in the subject area.
  • Two years of teaching experience or work experience in the field is preferred.
  • Experience with online teaching is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in English or related field.
