Phlebotomist Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at General Physician, P.C. in Buffalo, NY. As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for collecting blood specimens from patients using various venipuncture techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect blood specimens from patients using venipuncture and fingerstick techniques
  • Identify, label, and store samples in accordance with internal and legal regulations
  • Input patient results into electronic medical record
  • Adhere to the Exposure Control Plan to maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment
  • Maintain accurate inventory and order supplies
  • Communicate with outside Providers, facilities, and vendors, as needed
  • Deliver exemplary customer service to provide a positive patient experience

Requirements:

  • High School diploma and Phlebotomy Certification from an accredited facility required
  • Proven work experience in a healthcare facility preferred
  • Knowledge of centrifuge and medical terminology required
  • Familiarity with Point of Care testing and electronic medical record systems preferred
