Shop Helper Job Description

This is a unique opportunity to work at Watson Metal Masters as a Shop Helper. As a vital member of the production team, you will contribute significantly to our operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build wooden crates and skids, palletizing equipment for shipment.
  • Assist with shop clean up, including emptying dumpsters with forklifts.
  • Ability to run overhead cranes.
  • Grinding.
  • Load equipment for shipment.
  • Unload raw material and freight loads.
  • Assist shipping.
  • Assist shop floor with various tasks.
  • May be asked to perform other duties as needed.
  • Gather parts and materials for jobs.
  • Maintain product flow throughout the production floor.
  • Wash tanks, peel protective film off tanks.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED, preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2 years of manufacturing and experience preferred.
  • Forklift experience preferred.
  • Demonstrate ability to accurately read a tape measure.
  • Use various hand tools.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Requires the verbal skills to probe and ask questions to ensure understanding of requirements and participate in teams.
  • Must be able to interact professionally, appropriately, and courteously with customers, co-workers and other outside parties.

No travel is required for this position.

Safety is of utmost importance. All team members must observe safety procedures and use equipment and materials properly; must wear safety glasses and steel toe boots.
