Job Title: Diagnostic Imaging Technologist (CT, MRI, or IR) - Hourly/Per Diem (Evenings)

Job Summary: The Department of Radiology at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking an hourly/per diem Diagnostic Imaging Technologist (CT, MRI, or IR) to perform imaging procedures with established protocols. The successful candidate will be responsible for patient care, ensuring accuracy of patient identification, correct procedure, and correct laterality. Additionally, the candidate will coordinate patient schedules, maintain a safe environment, and adhere to department policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform all MRI, CT, or IR procedures with established protocols.
  • Ensure patient safety and accuracy of patient identification, correct procedure, and correct laterality.
  • Coordinate patient schedules to ensure timely completion of procedures.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment in the MRI, CT, or IR area.
  • Adhere to department policies and procedures, including ALARA principle.
  • Perform daily/weekly/monthly quality assurance on MRI, CT, or IR equipment.
  • Inform supervisor of equipment issues and record service ticket numbers.
  • Attend department-sponsored in-services and maintain a courteous and pleasant disposition with patients.

Requirements:
  • New York State Licensed Radiological Technologist with DOH injection certification required to perform MRI and CT exams.
  • ARRT certified in X-ray.
  • Current BCLS certification.
  • Maintain all required CE's for continued certification.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • ARRT certified in MRI, CT, or IR.
  • 2+ years of experience in all diagnostic MRI, CT, or IR radiology procedures.
  • Hospital experience.

Work Schedule: Variable Days; 4:00pm to 12:00am (Hourly/Per Diem Evenings)
Salary Grade/Rank: SL-3
Salary Range: Commensurate with experience and qualifications
