The pay package for this role is competitive, with a salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per year, based on 12-hour shifts and 48 hours per week. The tax-free stipend amount will be determined based on individual circumstances.

Job Description

As a MedSurg/Telemetry Specialist, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients in a medical-surgical unit. You will work closely with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans that promote recovery and wellness.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Patient Assessment and Monitoring: Conduct thorough assessments of patients, including evaluating vital signs, heart rhythms, and overall condition. Monitor and interpret telemetry data to detect any irregularities and notify the healthcare team if necessary.
  • Medication Administration and Management: Administer prescribed medications safely and effectively, while ensuring proper dosing and timing. Monitor patients for side effects and adverse reactions, and report any issues to the physician or healthcare team.
  • Telemetry and Cardiac Monitoring: Monitor patients with telemetry units to assess heart rate, rhythm, and overall cardiac health. Document and report any irregularities to the medical team.
  • Wound Care and Post-Surgical Care: Provide post-operative care for surgical patients, including monitoring incision sites and managing drains. Perform dressing changes, assess for signs of infection, and educate patients on post-surgical care instructions.

To be successful in this role, you must have a strong foundation in nursing principles and practices, with a focus on MedSurg and telemetry care. You should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams.
