Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Workforce Development Coordinator - Construction to join our team at the Coalition for Responsible Community Development (CRCD). The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of developing and implementing comprehensive workforce development programs, specifically in the construction industry.

The selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Tresa McCoy Regional Training Center, including coordinating training components for various programs and grants. This role requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders, including local unions, registered apprenticeships, and contracting companies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive workforce development programs in the construction industry, targeting South LA residents and program participants for family-sustaining wage opportunities.
  • Coordinate training components for various programs and grants, ensuring alignment with CRCD's mission and strategic plan.
  • Collaborate with the Workforce Development Department leadership to develop, implement, and coordinate activities that prepare individuals for construction careers, including local hire opportunities for infrastructure projects.
  • Provide supervision, coaching, and guidance to construction trainers, ensuring they meet CRCD's standards for quality training.
  • Monitor and manage grant expenditures, leveraged resources, and in-kind contributions, working closely with the Director of Workforce Development and other department leaders.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, laws, and policies, maintaining accurate records and documentation as required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience in workforce development, pre-apprenticeship coordination, and union apprenticeship training access.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing and supporting programs that serve vulnerable populations, such as reentry, foster youth, homeless, veterans, and unemployed individuals.
  • Strong knowledge of database management, quality control processes, and data tracking systems, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and Salesforce.
  • Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of quality and accuracy.
  • Familiarity with out-of-school, foster, and justice-involved youth is preferred, as well as experience working in communities with higher-than-normal gang activity, substance use, and homeless youth and adults.
Salary Range

$72,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
