About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Applied Scientist to join our team at Amazon, working on cutting-edge GenAI solutions for Healthcare and Life Sciences. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, training, testing, and deploying machine learning models that drive business impact.

Our ideal candidate has a strong background in deep learning, multimodal systems, and a passion for applying AI to healthcare challenges. You will collaborate with a team of clinical experts, researchers, and engineers to solve complex healthcare challenges and develop novel algorithms and modeling techniques for multimodal systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply latest deep learning and natural language processing techniques to ship new features for our customers
  • Convert ambiguous business questions into precise science problems
  • Regularly ship deep learning models and natural language processing models that run at AWS scale
  • Collaborate with engineers, clinical experts, and product managers to deliver solutions

  • Strong background in deep learning and multimodal systems
  • Passion for applying AI to healthcare challenges
  • Ability to lead and mentor research teams
  • Experience in developing scalable, secure AI/ML systems

Basic Qualifications:

  • PhD or Master's degree in CS, CE, ML, or related field
  • Experience in patents or publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals
  • Experience programming in Java, C++, Python, or related language
  • Knowledge of standard speech and machine learning techniques

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of building machine learning models for business application experience
  • Prior experience building LLMs or GenAI-based solutions
