Ophthalmic Care Specialist

The Ophthalmic Technician plays a vital role in the healthcare team, working closely with physicians to prepare patients for examinations and diagnostic testing. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Takes medical history and performs initial examinations and diagnostic testing independently
- Works closely with physicians to prepare patients for examinations and diagnostic testing
- Assists with patient care and provides support to the healthcare team
- Maintains accurate and detailed records of patient information
- Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of one year of work experience in an ophthalmology/optometry office preferred
- Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) certification preferred
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain accurate and detailed records
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent and intense customer interactions. The Ophthalmic Technician must be able to adapt to frequent change and prioritize tasks effectively.
