Public Health Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Public Health Nurse to join our team at the Virginia Department of Health. As a Public Health Nurse, you will provide professional nursing care to patients in clinics, homes, and schools, and other community or congregate care settings.
Key Responsibilities- Provide nursing assessments, perform lab tests, take measurements, and develop and implement care plans, including the administration of medication and case management.
- Participate in public health emergencies and community health assessments.
- May supervise support staff.
- Licensure as a RN in Virginia or compact state.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Ability to function independently, prioritize and organize work, solve problems, adapt to change, function as a team member, and relate to the public.
- Knowledge of public health concepts, principles of public health nursing, principles of epidemiology, immunizations, basic nursing science, medical terminology, and case management.
- A competitive salary range of $42,905 - $55,500.
