About the Role
The Produce Quality Assurance Specialist performs daily inspections of all incoming deliveries and existing produce inventories to ensure product meets established quality specifications. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
* Conduct daily inspections of all incoming fresh produce deliveries and inventory within coolers
* Make decisions to reject or accept fresh produce at receiving, ensuring processes are consistent with PACA laws when rejection is necessary
* Collaborate with warehouse management to identify and address food safety concerns, maintain records of inspections
* Communicate daily with replenishment lead and warehouse manager on all issues related to fresh produce, make recommendations on dump and damage or repackaging
* Verify Purchase Order quantities and inspect quality for all inbound perishable loads
* Inspect all inbound trucks for signs of pest and rodents before unloading, ensure compliance with all Standard Operating Procedures pertaining to receiving, storage, and shipping of fresh produce
* Document temperatures of all inbound loads, report violations to warehouse manager and replenishment lead
* Perform daily date checks, pull outdated fresh produce from pick and reserve slots, complete daily dump and damage report

Requirements
* High School Diploma or GED required
* Minimum 2 years experience in produce or other perishable receiving and inspection required
* Working knowledge of USDA Specs, Grades, and Standards required
* Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant applications/hardware
* Ability to lift 50 lbs, sit and stand for long periods of time
* Team-player with flexibility and willingness to learn new things and adapt as the business evolves

Compensation and Benefits
The estimated base rate for this role is between $21-$30 per hour. This position also receives overtime compensation. Benefits include health insurance, pre-tax spending accounts, retirement benefits, paid time off, short-term and long-term disability, employee stock purchase plan, and life insurance.
