Mental Health Recovery Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Recovery Specialist to join our team at the Institute for Comm Living.
Job OverviewThe Mental Health Recovery Specialist will play a vital role in providing comprehensive treatment and support services to individuals with serious mental illness, substance use disorders, and homelessness.
This position requires a strong understanding of evidence-based treatment modalities, symptom-reduction strategies, and trauma-informed care principles. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
Key Responsibilities- Provide counseling, treatment, rehabilitation, case management, and support services to individuals in their communities, homes, shelters, and on the streets.
- Assume primary clinical management responsibility for 10-12 adults with serious and persistent mental illness, who may also have co-occurring substance abuse or other disorders.
- Assist individuals in achieving stable housing, employment, social relationships, and relief from psychiatric symptoms through medication management support.
- Engage in assertive outreach and provision of mental health services in the community, with approximately 80% of the workweek taking place in the field.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records, including progress notes, service plans, assessments, and contact logs, within all applicable regulations and guidelines.
- Collaborate with other agencies and organizations to provide referrals and engagement support for services not directly provided by the IMT Team.
- Participate in individual and group supervision, treatment team meetings, case conferences, in-service training, and other staff development activities as assigned.
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, mental health counseling, criminal justice, or a related field.
- A minimum of one year of experience working with individuals with serious mental illness, substance use disorders, homelessness, and criminal justice involvement.
- Strong knowledge of evidence-based treatment modalities and symptom-reduction strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
The estimated salary for this position is $55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
