Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Manager to join our team at Barts Electric. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the accounting activities for our Kansas City office, including credit and collections, accounts receivable, and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and participate in the preparation of various financial statements and reports.
  • Direct the installation and maintenance of accounting records to show receipts and expenditures.
  • Direct the maintenance of general and subsidiary ledgers, accounts receivable, revenue distribution, depreciation, cost, property, and operating expenses, and insurance records.
  • Direct internal audits involving review of accounting and administrative controls.
  • Review financial statements with management personnel.
  • Establish credit limitations on customer accounts and handle special credit arrangements and deviations from standard terms of payment.
  • Review collection reports to determine status of collections and balances outstanding and to evaluate effectiveness of current collection policies and procedures.
  • Delegate authority for receipt, disbursement, banking, protection and custody of funds, securities, and financial instruments as appropriate.
  • Prepare cash flow and other financial reports for management.
  • Develop policies and procedures for account collections.
  • Direct computation of pay according to company policy.
  • Direct compilation and preparation of other payroll data such as 401(k), medical, dental, and insurance payments.
Requirements
  • 3 years experience in all areas of Accounting - AP/AR/PR
  • Professional appearance and demeanor;
  • Customer Service orientation - actively looking for ways to help people;
  • Math and mathematics reasoning skills - using math to solve problems, the ability to use the right mathematical methods or formulas to solve a problem.
  • Attention to detail; accuracy.
  • Active listening skills - giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times;
  • Communication skills - the ability to clearly and effectively convey and to understand verbal and written information;
  • Judgment -the ability to prioritize tasks and apply appropriate amounts of time to each.
  • Sensitivity - using a diplomatic approach in handling and discussing confidential information.
  • Deductive reasoning - the ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
  • Problem recognition - the ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong.
