We are seeking a compassionate and adaptable Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team as a Travel LPN. This opportunity allows an LPN to travel locally by working in various GSS locations within a 150-mile radius from home address, providing care with competitive pay, mileage reimbursement, flexibility, and no contract requirement.
Job Summary
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of nursing principles and be able to provide quality care to residents in a variety of settings. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be able to work effectively with professional and supportive personnel as a member of an interdisciplinary care team, and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Additionally, they will be skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with residents, health care providers, and the public.
Responsibilities
This role requires the ability to perform testing to evaluate data reflective of the resident's status and to provide the care needed. The candidate will also demonstrate ability to recognize problems, recommend solutions, and respond effectively to assist in an emergent situation. They will ensure the health, comfort, and safety of residents, contribute to the assessment of residents, administer medications or treatments as ordered, and document resident interactions as needed. Furthermore, they will provide technical support to healthcare professionals as needed and counsel residents, family members, and/or resident advocate under the direction of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician on prevention and treatment plans.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, the candidate must have a graduate degree from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Associate degree in practical nursing is preferred. If position requires IV therapy/management skills, the following is required in North Dakota: graduation from a Board approved AASPN program where IV therapy is part of the curriculum or completion of an IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing. Must have attended a pre-licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the life span as part of the curriculum or have had a minimum of 400 hours of experience as LPN at another facility. Specific services/positions may have additional education, training, or experience requirements. Currently holds an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with State Nursing board and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department-specific competencies and certifications. Completes required annual continuing education units (CEU) and competency training requirements of the department and facility.
