Health and Safety Coordinator

Pro-Vac LLC is seeking a dedicated and experienced Health and Safety Senior Coordinator to champion onsite safety, prevent injuries, ensure training and regulatory compliance, and cultivate a strong safety culture within the organization.
The ideal candidate will have strong working knowledge of OSHA 1910 and 1926 standards, and other applicable federal, state, and local regulatory standards.
Responsibilities include:
- Actively participating as a member of the Health and Safety Team to develop, implement, and continuously improve safety and health management systems and programs.
- Collaborating with team members to identify areas for improvement, share best practices, and drive collective efforts to enhance safety culture and performance.
- Researching, evaluating, and recommending safety-sensitive equipment such as atmospheric monitors, fall protection gear, and other specialized safety tools and devices.
- Leading the development, implementation, and ongoing improvement of comprehensive Health and Safety Programs in alignment with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices.
- Conducting Pro-Vac's New Hire Orientation process for new employees as required.
- Gathering and analyzing data to identify trends and develop corrective action plans for organizational performance based on safety metrics and employee feedback.
- Auditing job-specific documents, including DVIRs, JHAs, and completing a gap analysis on a monthly basis.
Requirements include:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in industrial/rail car cleaning, hazardous chemicals, and/or emergency response.
- OSHA 500 certification preferred, but not required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate employees at all levels of the organization.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
- Demonstrated physical fitness and agility to work at heights and perform climbing activities safely.
- Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, Environmental Science, or related field (preferred).
Traveling to and visiting job sites within the region is required in this role.
